The National arts council of Botswana is an entity under the purview of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, gender, Sport and culture Development. It was established through the National Arts Council Act, which was passed by Parliament on the 17th September 2020. It is mandated to develop, promote and protect the creative and cultural sector through policy, legislation, industry facilitation and various partnerships, programs , grants and initiatives. It is the vehicle through which commercialisation of the arts will be actualized.
